Natsukashii

I had some guests stay over for the weekend and for a change it was nice to just sit back and not have to worry about what to cook for dinner. Especially when your guest is an expert in Japanese cuisine.

Ate Yolly did not have any formal training in Japanese cooking but years of working for a Japanese couple based in Davao City taught her the basics of Japanese cooking. Eventually her perseverance landed her a job as cook of a Japanese who manages one of the biggest cement manufacturing companies in Papua New Guinea.

Today lunch was ebi and ika tempura (shrimp and squid tempura), kakiage (mixed vegetables tempura), soumen (cold noodles in special sauce) and haru maki (spring rolls). It was like eating at the shokudou (cafeteria) again, hell no. It was much much better than shokudou food. Natsukashii aji datta.

Oishiikatta....

Good you have visitors like real relatives there in PNG. In my case nobody from my family will be visiting me anywhere in the world. I still have to make "relatives" near the area.
