Another earthquake

Here I am typing this blog by the light of a rechargeable lamp. Just moments ago I was on the Internet when the house started to sway and all of a sudden the entire house rattled. Powered by a rush of adrenalin, I put on my rubber thongs and dashed towards the door and headed downstairs where I felt it was safer.

Outside people ran in all directions while a neighbour’s dog appeared confused and lost. Who says people are the only ones scared of earthquakes? It was also during the swaying when I discovered that a family of bats have made my house their home as well as small vampires coming from the underside of the house flew in all directions. Now that’s where all the squeaking sound was coming from! And I thought my house needed oiling!

And as expected, after the shaking came the blackout. And while my laptop still had some life in it I checked the Internet and found that the magnitude 6.6 earthquakes’ epicentre was about 70 kms from where I was.

Anyway my laptops’ battery says it’s got 26% battery remaining and I don’t know when power is going to be restored. In the meantime I am staying alert in case of a strong aftershock and prepare my earthquake kit just in case.
