Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! and sorry for the long absence. I was enjoying my one month vacation immensely, there just wasn’t time to sit and write down my thoughts. It was time spent bonding with family and friends and doing what my sisters call a “beautification” drive. You see, one of the things I miss most about home are the cheap spa and beauty treatments ranging from foot spa to eyebrow trimming, name it! I had hot oil treatment, eyebrow threading, foot spa, a good Thai massage, hair relaxing, manicure and pedicure, the whole enchilada! I tell you, being in PNG for almost a year, I just felt so deprived.

Anyway here are a few snap shots I took during my vacation in the Philippines.

Shiawase (Japanese for happiness or bliss). Meet our pet cat Cody in the middle of a long nap at my mom’s patio, one of his favourite spots.

The end of shiawase is when the master and pet happens to favour the same spot.

Double-deck. Cody the cat and Clifford the Dachshund, peacefully coexisting. These two pets even eat from the same plate, how sweet!

Happy birthday to me. The good thing about having a birthday that falls right after the holiday season is that you get to spend it with the rest of the family. The bad thing? You grow old ahead of everyone else.
